The store began operations in 1927, as Bailey’s Store, and has been in continuous operation since. The store was operated by the Bailey, Garner, and Sheaffer families. 

The store is currently owned and operated by the Dent Family. 

In 1964, WJ “Chief” Dent retired from the U. S. Navy and began working for John Sheaffer. In 1978, Chief, along with his wife Jo, purchased the store. In March 2010, Chief passed away.  Now his son, David, has continued the traditions of this quaint country market.
